Linda Gold - President and CEO
M3iworks
A San Francisco Bay Area native and one of the first high-tech female CEOs in Silicon Valley, Linda Gold is first and foremost a business woman dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls, and a passionate quality-of-life advocate for all. She founded M3iworks in 1981 to improve the usability of high-tech and consumer product information, providing technical writing and documentation services for local high-tech firms, including Apple Computer, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and Federal Express. As Silicon Valley’s business communications needs changed, Linda reinvented the company, transforming it into a premier provider of revenue-generating and productivity- increasing websites and web applications for Silicon Valley companies like Sun Microsystem and Netscape Communications, and non-profits including The Health Trust of Santa Clara County, Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Pat Tillman Foundation, and the Islamic Network Group.
Throughout her professional career, Linda Gold has exhibited a passion for community service, quality-of-life activism, and family. Her community and quality-of-life activism includes participation in AIDS & breast cancer research benefits, the Women’s Global Health Imperative, Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Women in Technology International (WITI), Women’s High Tech Coalition, San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, San Jose State University’s Exceptional Women Executives, American Leadership Forum (ALF) Class XVII, Rotary Club of Downtown San Jose, and the Advisory Boards of the YWCA Santa Clara County and Girls for a Change. While raising two children, Linda participated as a board member and volunteer for numerous school and church benefit programs, and currently serves as a fundraiser and advocacy volunteer for several Silicon Valley non-profits. Linda continues to sponsor the Women’s Health Conference, and has also signed on to Chair the 2008 “Go Red for Women” event sponsored by the Silicon Valley chapter of the American Heart Association.
The Silicon Valley community has responded with numerous awards and acknowledgements:
Prior to founding M3iworks, Linda Gold served in marketing, training, and communications management positions for computer manufacturing firms.
